And Thanksgiving Point truly knows how to do Christmas! In fact, we’ve compiled a list of the 7 holiday must-do events for the upcoming season at Thanksgiving Point (so you don’t miss a thing).
Eating Breakfast with Santa at Thanksgiving Point is a perfect way to see Santa without waiting in long lines at the mall. A delicious breakfast will be served with visits from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and other favorite North Pole characters. Kids will enjoy dance contests, sing-a-longs, cookie decorating, games, and crafts.
2.Visit the live reindeer at Luminaria. Seeing these magnificent animals is a perfect way to get into the holiday spirit, while seeing holiday lights. The live reindeer experience features Comet (who loves kids and is known for being handsome and easy-going) and Vixen (whose special skill is magic).
In a longstanding tradition at Thanksgiving Point, sculptors will be out every Friday evening from Nov. 25th to Dec. 23rd, demonstrating their skills. Afterwards, stop by the Tower Deli to warm up with a steaming cup of hot cocoa.
The Light of the World Sculpture Garden at Luminaria is the Ashton Gardens’ most recent addition. It highlights 14 scenes from the life of Jesus Christ in the New Testament and Book of Mormon. During the Luminaria event it will be softly lit with 600+ lanterns accompanied by music.
Make it a holiday tradition to see the entertaining Voice Male performance at Thanksgiving Point. Voice Male, who are returning favorites, will perform classic and new holiday tunes with their signature a cappella voices. Purchase tickets early as this event sells out each year!
Luminaria at Thanksgiving Point is a new interactive holiday light display. If you’re a Utah local, you’ve seen the lights at Temple Square and others around town. Instead of visiting something you’ve seen a dozen times, visit the newest light display in town. This venue offers many other activities such as cottages with holiday treats and even fire pits to stay cozy and warm.
Don’t forget New Year’s Eve! Ring in the New Year in the most curious style there is: Night Bright at the Museum of Natural Curiosity. This family-friendly event is packed with activities. Dance to a live DJ in the lobby, play in the four indoor galleries (Rainforest, Water Works, Kidopolis and the "Geometry Playground" exhibit visiting from the Exploratorium), and much more. There will also be food available at Curiosity Café, and a countdown to a balloon drop at midnight. Bring a date, your family or just yourself -- and kick off 2017 right!
