Summary -
(French for “competition of elegance”) is a gathering where owners of distinctive automobiles compete for top honors. This is a charity event to raise money for the upcoming Museum of Natural Curiosity (the children’s museum at Thanksgiving Point).
Concours d’ Elegance stands out as one of the more unique car shows in the state. The sole theme of the show is the enjoyment of the automobile. If it has more than two wheels you will most likely see it here. It will make an enthusiast out of everyone.
Tickets will be for sale at the door, according to availability at that time. Also, any tickets that were to be picked up at Will Call will be available at the East Gate Box office of Electric Park at 10:00 am on the morning of the event when box office opens. Photo ID will be required at Will Call to pick up tickets.
No outside food or drink will be allowed into the facility. Concessions will be available.
The event will go on RAIN OR SHINE. No weather-related refunds will be given.
Dinner
August 22nd at 7:00pm there will be food served to the entrants in the Show Barn. Each pre-registered entrant will receive one FREE dinner and guest dinners are only $10. You MUST pre-register for the dinner and any guests you will have. (Deadline is 8/18/2008). There will be a Special guest speaker. |

When Mike Schlappi takes the floor, a dazzling smile greets you. Then you notice the wheelchair. If ever a man was defined by what he can do instead of what he can't do, it's Gold Medalist and Author Mike Schlappi. At the age of 14, Mike had expectations of a career in sports as a top notch athlete. A gunshot to the chest at point blank range challenged his dreams. He would never walk again. After months of rigorous physical therapy, he began playing basketball from his wheelchair and went on to become a standout athlete.
Mike Schlappi's thought-provoking presentation challenges individuals of all ages to take responsibility and be empowered. His engaging presentations have entertained and inspired audiences worldwide. |
